ONE DAY WITHOUT WAITING (A Mr. Phone US Story)

It starts the way it always starts: a phone slips, the screen spiders across the glass, and the whole day suddenly has a problem in the middle of it. Your photos are behind that glass. Your messages, your maps, your banking app, your kid's school updates — all of it, waiting on a screen you can barely read.

The old script for this story is familiar. You book an appointment days out. You mail the phone somewhere and track it like a package. You borrow a spare, or you just go without, refreshing nothing, missing things, telling people "my phone's broken" like it's a weather report.

This story goes differently

At Mr. Phone US, the day a cracked phone walks in is usually the day it walks back out fixed. You bring the phone to the counter — Tulsa, Broken Arrow or Bixby, whichever fits your day — and the first step costs nothing: a free diagnosis. The technician checks what the fall actually damaged, because a cracked look and a cracked display are not always the same thing, and then you hear the quote before any work begins.

For iPhone and Samsung models, you can even check the published screen price on this site before you leave home, so the number at the counter holds no surprises. Many common repairs are completed in 15–30 minutes — about the time it takes to grab a coffee and answer the messages you can suddenly read again.

And then the day just… continues

That's the part people don't expect. There's no second trip, no week of borrowed phones, no group chat explaining your silence. You pay when the phone is fixed, and the repair leaves with you backed by a 90-day warranty, so the story has an ending you can rely on even after you walk out.

One day without waiting isn't a slogan about speed for its own sake. It's about how much of modern life runs through one small glass rectangle — and how quickly that life gets back on track when the fix is measured in minutes, not days.

Phone down today?

Start with a free diagnosis at any Mr. Phone US store, or check the published iPhone and Samsung screen prices before you come in.

Introducing Mr Phone US – now at your doorstep!

Some days, the hardest part of a broken phone isn't the phone — it's everything around it. The meeting you can't move. The kids' schedule. The work shift that eats the exact hours a repair shop is open. Your phone picked the worst possible moment, as phones always do.

That's why Mr. Phone US offers On-Demand Phone Repair: instead of you coming to the repair counter, a technician drives to your home or office and your place becomes the repair counter.

How on-demand repair works

Start with the online booking flow on this site and choose the on-demand option — "Client's Place" — when you book. Because a technician is traveling to you, it's worth a quick call to confirm availability in your neighborhood; service-area boundaries are confirmed when you book, so there are no surprises about whether your address is covered.

On-demand is a premium service, and a premium service fee applies. That fee is confirmed with you during booking, before anyone gets in a car — no travel-fee amount is sprung on you at the door.

Same repair, different counter

What doesn't change is the repair itself. It starts with a diagnosis, you hear the quote before work begins, and completed repairs carry the same 90-day warranty as an in-store fix. The bench just happens to be your kitchen table or your office desk.

If your day genuinely has no room for a trip to Tulsa, Broken Arrow or Bixby, this is the option built for you. Book on-demand repair, confirm your area, and get your phone fixed where you already are.

Can't get to a store?

Your Phone Fell Once… and Now the Screen Works "Sometimes."

The drop itself seemed harmless. The phone landed, you picked it up, the screen lit up, and you moved on with your day. But since then, something is off. The screen responds… mostly. A corner ignores your thumb. The display flickers when it feels like it. Some mornings everything works perfectly, which somehow makes it more annoying, not less.

Intermittent problems after a single drop are one of the most common stories we hear, and they have a few usual causes hiding under the glass.

What's probably happening inside

A modern screen is a stack of layers: the glass you touch, the touch-sensitive layer that reads your fingers, and the display that shows the picture. A fall can crack or bruise the touch layer without shattering the glass, which is why the picture can look fine while touches land "sometimes." A hard landing can also shift the screen's connector slightly, so contact comes and goes as the phone warms up, cools down or flexes in your pocket. And small cracks you can barely see can spread slowly, taking a little more of the touch area with them each week.

Why "sometimes" tends to become "never"

Intermittent faults rarely heal. A loosened connector works itself looser. A hairline crack grows. The frustrating phase — restarting the phone, pressing harder, tapping twice — is usually just the early chapter. Waiting also carries a risk: if the display is damaged underneath, a screen that works today can go black or start registering touches on its own.

The good news is that "sometimes" is diagnosable. A free diagnosis at the counter separates a connector issue from touch-layer damage from a failing display, and you'll hear exactly what the repair involves and what it costs before anything is opened. If it's a screen replacement, published prices for iPhone and Samsung models are on this site, many common screen repairs are done in 15–30 minutes, and the repair is backed by a 90-day warranty.

So if your phone fell once and now works "sometimes," don't wait for the day it decides on "never." Bring it in while it still has something to say.

Screen acting up after a drop?

A free diagnosis will tell you whether it's the connector, the touch layer or the display — before you pay for anything.

Back to all articles Blog cover: Closing Apps Won't “Save” Your Battery

Closing Apps Won't "Save" Your Battery

It's almost a reflex now: double-tap, swipe up, swipe up, swipe up — every app flung off the screen in the name of saving battery. It feels productive. It feels like you're helping. Unfortunately, your phone disagrees.

Your phone already manages its apps

Modern phones are built to hold apps in a suspended, low-power state when you're not using them. An app sitting in your recent-apps list is mostly frozen — it's not running errands in the background or sipping your battery. The recent-apps screen is a list of shortcuts, not a list of things actively draining power.

When you force-close everything, the phone has to relaunch each app from scratch the next time you open it — reloading code, signing back into services, rebuilding screens. That full cold start often uses more energy than simply waking the app up from its nap. Do it all day, every day, and your battery-saving habit can quietly become a battery-spending one.

What actually drains your battery

  • Screen brightness and screen-on time — the display is the hungriest part of the phone.
  • Weak signal — a phone straining to hold one bar works its radio much harder.
  • Background activity you've allowed — constant location checks, auto-playing video and aggressive refresh settings.
  • Heat — hot phones drain faster and age their batteries sooner.
  • A worn-out battery — after a couple of years of charge cycles, the battery simply holds less than it used to.

When it's the battery, not your habits

If your phone dies by mid-afternoon, shuts down at 20%, or only misbehaves when it's unplugged, that's not an app-swiping problem — that's a battery asking to retire. A free diagnosis can check battery health and confirm whether a battery replacement will give the phone its stamina back. The replacement is covered by our 90-day repair warranty, and it costs far less than replacing the whole phone.

So swipe apps away if it makes you feel tidy. Just don't expect your battery to thank you — and if the battery itself is tired, bring it in and let's check it for free.

Your Phone Is Overheating? It's Not Just the Weather.

Oklahoma summers are real, and yes, a phone baking on a dashboard will complain. But if your phone runs hot on a mild day, indoors, doing nothing special — the weather is not the main suspect. Heat is a symptom, and your phone is trying to tell you something.

The usual culprits

  • A tired battery. Aging batteries work harder to deliver the same power, and wasted effort becomes heat. A phone that is both hot and draining fast is often pointing at its own battery.
  • A runaway app or process. An app stuck syncing, uploading or locating you can pin the processor at full effort until the phone warms up like a hand warmer.
  • Charging habits. Fast charging generates warmth on its own, and using the phone heavily while it charges stacks two heat sources at once. A cheap or damaged cable or charger can make it worse.
  • A sealed-in case. Thick cases trap heat the phone is trying to shed — fine on a cold day, unhelpful during a long navigation drive.
  • Direct sun and hot cars. This one really is the weather. A phone on a sunny seat can overheat just sitting there.

What to do when it gets hot

Stop charging it, close the demanding stuff, take the case off, and let it cool in the shade at its own pace. Don't keep pushing it — phones throttle their speed and dim their screens to protect themselves, and a battery that overheats repeatedly ages much faster.

When hot means "bring it in"

If the heat comes with fast battery drain, a bulging back panel, random shutdowns, or warmth while the phone is just sitting idle, that's a diagnosis visit, not a wait-and-see. Battery and charging problems are exactly what a free diagnosis is for: we'll check the battery's health and the charging system, explain what we find, and quote any repair before work starts. A completed repair carries a 90-day warranty.

Warm during a long game is normal. Hot for no reason is information. Listen to it early and the fix is usually simple.

Phone running hot for no reason?

Bring it in for a free diagnosis — battery and charging issues are much cheaper caught early.

No, Putting it in the Freezer Is Not Going to Help.

Your phone is hot enough to fry an egg (please don't), and the freezer is right there. It's cold, it's fast, it feels like physics. We understand the temptation. We're still going to ask you to close that freezer door.

Why the freezer backfires

Condensation. A hot phone in freezing air collects moisture — on the surface and, worse, inside it. You can trade a heat problem for a water-damage problem in a few minutes, and water damage is the far more expensive guest.

Thermal shock. Phone glass, batteries and solder joints are not designed for a sudden plunge from very hot to below freezing. Rapid temperature swings stress materials that expand and contract at different rates — the same physics that cracks windshields.

The battery hates it. Lithium batteries lose capacity and behave erratically in the cold. Chilling an already struggling battery doesn't rest it; it stresses it further, and the phone may refuse to charge or boot until it warms back up.

Cool it down the boring, correct way

  • Unplug it. Charging adds heat while you're trying to remove it.
  • Take the case off so heat can escape.
  • Close heavy apps and stop gaming, streaming or navigating for a while.
  • Set it in a cool, shaded spot — a countertop indoors, not a freezer shelf.
  • Let it return to room temperature gradually before you charge or push it again.

The real question: why was it hot?

Cooling a phone treats the symptom. If yours overheats regularly — especially with fast battery drain, shutdowns or warmth while idle — something inside is working too hard, and it's worth knowing what. A free diagnosis at Mr. Phone US checks the battery and charging system so the fix addresses the cause, and any completed repair is backed by a 90-day warranty.

Save the freezer for the ice cream. Your phone will cool down just fine on the counter — and if it keeps heating up, that's our cue to take a look.

Overheating again and again?

Skip the freezer — get a free diagnosis and find out what's actually making it hot.

Phone Screen Repair in Downtown Bixby, OK | Mr. Phone US

A cracked screen in Bixby doesn't have to become a trip across the metro or a week without your phone. The Mr. Phone US store at 113 N Armstrong St in downtown Bixby handles screen repair right here in town — diagnosis first, quote before work, and many common screen repairs completed in 15–30 minutes.

How a screen repair visit works

Walk in with the phone as it is. Every visit starts with a free diagnosis, because the crack you can see isn't always the whole story — the technician checks whether the damage is only in the glass or reaches the touch layer and display underneath, since that decides the right repair. You hear the quote before anything is opened, and you're not charged until the phone is fixed.

Want to know your number before you leave home? The repair price finder on this site lists published screen prices for iPhone and Samsung models. For other brands — Google Pixel, LG, Lenovo, HTC, Nokia and more — call the Bixby store at (918) 895-5558 for current pricing.

More than glass

The Bixby counter handles the full everyday list alongside screens: batteries that won't hold a charge, charging ports that only work at one angle, cameras and lenses, water damage, and software and button problems — each starting with the same free diagnosis. And every completed repair, screens included, carries a 90-day warranty.

Visit the Bixby store

You'll find us at 113 N Armstrong St, Bixby, OK 74008, open Monday–Saturday 9:30 AM–8:00 PM and Sunday 9:30 AM–3:00 PM. Walk-ins are welcome, or book a repair ahead of time. And if Tulsa or Broken Arrow is closer to where your day takes you, both stores offer the same free diagnosis and the same 90-day warranty — pick whichever counter fits your route.

RICE might be good for physical therapy, but not for your phone!

If you've sprained an ankle, you know RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Solid advice for a human. But somewhere along the way, "rice" picked up a second career as folk medicine for wet phones — drop the phone in a bag of it, wait a day, hope for the best. Your phone deserves better than a side dish.

What rice actually does (and doesn't)

Rice absorbs a little surface moisture, slowly. What it doesn't do is reach the water that matters — the water that has already wicked inside the phone, across the board and into connectors. While the phone sits in the bag, that trapped water is doing its real damage: corroding tiny contacts and leaving mineral deposits behind. Rice can also add its own problems, like dust and starch working into the charging port. The phone that "came back" after rice usually survived in spite of the wait, and the corrosion it picked up often shows up weeks later as weird, intermittent faults.

What to do instead, in order

  • Power it off and leave it off. Electricity plus water is what shorts boards.
  • Don't charge it. No cable "just to check." This is the step that saves boards.
  • Don't press buttons or shake it — both push water deeper.
  • Dry the outside with a soft cloth and leave ports facing down.
  • Bring it in quickly. Speed matters more than any home remedy.

What happens at the counter

Water-damage service at Mr. Phone US means opening the phone, drying and cleaning the internals properly, and attempting to save the device and your data. Diagnosis is free, you'll hear what's possible before you pay for anything, and completed repairs carry a 90-day warranty. Not every drowned phone makes it — honesty about that is part of the service — but a phone brought in fast, powered off and uncharged has far better odds than one that spent two days in rice.

So keep the RICE protocol for ankles. For phones: power off, no charging, and get it to a counter while the story can still have a good ending.

Phone took a swim?

Power it off, skip the rice and the charger, and bring it to any Mr. Phone US store as soon as you can.

A Deep Dive into Mr. Phone US – Tulsa's Premier Phone Repair Destination

What should a phone repair shop actually be? Not a mail-in warehouse that holds your phone for a week, and not a counter that quotes one price and charges another. Let's take a proper look at what Mr. Phone US does, how a repair visit works, and why the shop is set up the way it is.

One counter, the whole bench

The service list goes well beyond cracked glass. Screens and touch problems, yes — but also battery replacement, water-damage treatment, camera and lens repair, charging-port cleaning and repair, power-button and software issues, and deeper motherboard and IC-level work. The bench also covers tablets, smartwatches, laptops and game-console HDMI ports, so the device you depend on is probably a device the shop already knows.

Behind the bench: technicians with more than 15 years of experience. That matters most on the odd problems — the intermittent faults and "it only does it sometimes" phones — where pattern recognition beats guesswork.

The visit, step by step

  • Free diagnosis first. You find out what's actually wrong before you owe anything.
  • A clear quote. Published screen prices for iPhone and Samsung models are listed on this site, so the most common repair starts with a number you can check from home. Other brands are quoted by phone — no invented prices, ever.
  • Fast turnaround. Many common repairs are completed in 15–30 minutes.
  • Pay when it's fixed. You're not charged until the phone is repaired.
  • A 90-day warranty. Completed repairs are backed for 90 days.

Three stores, same standard

The Tulsa store at 7110 S Mingo Rd, Suite 105 is joined by Broken Arrow (1025 E Kenosha St) and Bixby (113 N Armstrong St). Whichever counter you walk up to, the deal is the same: free diagnostics, clear quotes, fast common repairs and the 90-day warranty. Add the shelves of cases, tempered glass, chargers and accessories — including tempered glass fitted in store — and a refurbished-phone selection whose iPhone 11 Pro carries a 1-year warranty, and one trip tends to cover the whole problem.

That's the deep dive: experience on the bench, honesty at the quote, and speed where it counts. The rest is just bringing your phone in.

Top 5 Reasons Your Smartphone Might Need Professional Repair

Phones rarely die all at once. They send signals first — small annoyances that are easy to live with right up until they aren't. Here are the five reasons phones end up on a professional bench most often, and how to recognize each one early.

1. A cracked or misbehaving screen

The classic. Cracks spread, touch areas go dead, displays flicker or develop lines. Even a "cosmetic" crack lets moisture and dust reach parts that were never meant to meet them. Screen repair is also the most predictable fix: published prices for iPhone and Samsung models are on this site, and many are done in 15–30 minutes.

2. A battery that can't keep up

Dying by mid-afternoon, shutting down at 20%, charging suspiciously fast from 90 to 100 — these are battery-wear signatures, not personality quirks. A free battery-health check confirms it, and a battery replacement restores the phone's stamina for a fraction of a new phone's cost.

3. Charging that only works at one angle

If you have a special way you hold the cable, the problem is the port — often packed lint, sometimes worn or damaged contacts. Port cleaning and repair is a small job that feels huge the first night your phone charges normally again.

4. Water got in

Rain, sinks, pools, spilled drinks. Water damage is a race: power the phone off, don't charge it, and get it opened, dried and cleaned before corrosion sets in. The phones that arrive quickly and uncharged have the best outcomes — and the best chance of saving your data.

5. Cameras, buttons and software gremlins

Blurry photos from a damaged lens, a power button that's given up, a phone that's slowed to a crawl or loops on startup. Some of these are hardware, some are software, and guessing wrong gets expensive — which is exactly why diagnosis comes first and costs nothing here.

Notice a theme? Every one of these starts with a free diagnosis at Mr. Phone US, a clear quote before work begins, and a 90-day warranty on the completed repair. Whatever your phone is trying to tell you, bring it in and let's translate.

The Trusted Choice: Why Mr. Phone Stands Out

Handing your phone to a repair shop is an act of trust. The device holds your photos, your messages, your banking, your work — and you're leaving it with someone you may have met ninety seconds ago. So what actually makes a repair shop worth trusting? We think it comes down to a few habits, practiced every day.

Diagnosis before dollars

Trust starts with how a shop handles the moment before money. At Mr. Phone US, diagnosis is free, and you're not charged until the phone is fixed. That order matters: you learn what's wrong, hear the quote, and decide — with the information in your hands, not after a bill has already started.

Prices you can check before you visit

For the most common repair of all, the shop publishes its numbers: iPhone and Samsung screen prices are listed in the price finder on this site, starting from $39.99. For brands without published model pricing, the answer is a phone call and a straight quote — never a made-up number to get you through the door.

A warranty that says "we stand behind it"

Completed repairs carry a 90-day warranty. That's the shop putting its own work on the line after you've left: if the repaired part misbehaves within the warranty window, the conversation starts from a position of responsibility, not excuses.

Experience, and range

Technicians bring more than 15 years of experience to a bench that covers phones, tablets, watches, laptops and consoles — from a straightforward screen swap to motherboard and IC-level work. And with stores in Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Bixby, the same standard is available whichever side of the metro your day is on. No store is the "real" one; they're three doors to the same promise.

Trust isn't a claim on a wall. It's free diagnosis, published prices, payment when it's fixed, and a warranty in writing. That's the standard Mr. Phone US holds itself to — and the reason customers hand over the most personal device they own.

Judge for yourself

Bring your phone in for a free diagnosis and a clear quote — no charge until it's fixed, and a 90-day warranty when it is.

Discover the Uniqueness of Mr. Phone US: Your Trusted Phone Repair Partner in Tulsa

Every town has a place that fixes phones. What makes one worth becoming your place? Spend a few minutes looking at how Mr. Phone US is put together and a few differences stand out.

It's a repair shop and a phone shop, in one visit

The bench handles screens, batteries, water damage, cameras, charging ports and board-level work — but the store around it carries the rest of the phone's life: hundreds of accessories, from cases and tempered glass (fitted in store while you wait) to chargers, power banks, watch bands and car chargers. There's also a refurbished-phone selection; the refurbished iPhone 11 Pro listed on this site carries a 1-year warranty. Fix it, protect it, or replace it — the options sit in the same room, which makes comparing them unusually easy.

The quote process respects you

Free diagnosis. Published screen prices for iPhone and Samsung that you can check from your couch. Straight "call for pricing" honesty on other brands instead of invented numbers. Payment only when the phone is fixed, and a 90-day warranty on completed repairs. Each step is designed so you always know where you stand.

Depth behind the counter

More than 15 years of technician experience shows in the range of work the shop accepts: not just phones, but tablets, smartwatches, laptops and even game-console HDMI ports, plus motherboard and IC-level repair for the phones other counters give up on. Many everyday repairs are still done in 15–30 minutes — experience shows up as speed on the simple jobs and capability on the hard ones.

Local, three times over

Tulsa's store at 71st & Mingo is joined by Broken Arrow and Bixby — three locally run counters offering the same free diagnosis and the same warranty. That's the uniqueness, in the end: a shop built like a neighbor, run like a specialist.

Revive Your Phone in Tulsa: Mr. Phone US Offers Top-Notch Repairs

There's a moment every phone owner knows: the screen cracks, the battery gives up, or the phone just stops being itself — and a voice says, "Guess it's time for a new one." Sometimes it is. But far more often, the phone in your hand has years left in it, and what it needs is a revival, not a replacement.

Most "dead" phones are one repair from fine

The failures that retire phones are usually single-part failures. A worn battery makes a healthy phone feel ancient. A cracked screen hides a perfectly good device. A clogged charging port imitates a dying phone. Laptops, tablets, watches and consoles follow the same pattern — one component fails, and the whole device gets blamed.

Repair flips the economics: instead of replacing everything that works to fix the one part that doesn't, you fix the part. Free diagnosis at Mr. Phone US tells you exactly which part that is, and what the revival costs, before you commit to anything.

What a revival looks like here

  • Screens — published prices for iPhone and Samsung models, many replaced in 15–30 minutes.
  • Batteries — health checked free; a fresh battery restores the phone's stamina.
  • Water damage — internal drying, cleanup and an attempt to save the phone and its data.
  • Cameras, ports, buttons, software — diagnosed first, quoted clearly.
  • The deep work — motherboard and IC-level repair for problems other counters turn away.

Every completed repair is backed by a 90-day warranty, and you're not charged until the phone is fixed. Tulsa's store at 7110 S Mingo Rd, Suite 105 offers the full bench — and so do Broken Arrow and Bixby, with the same free diagnosis and warranty at each.

Before you price a new phone, price the revival. It starts free, and it might end with the phone you already love, working like it means it.

What can go wrong with your phone?

A smartphone is a camera, a computer, a radio, a battery and a pane of glass pretending to be one object. It lives in pockets, falls on pavement, bakes in cars and occasionally goes swimming. So the honest answer to "what can go wrong?" is: plenty — but almost all of it falls into a handful of familiar categories, and most of them are repairable.

The glass and the display

Cracked glass is the famous one, but screens fail quietly too: touch that works "sometimes," dead spots, flicker, lines, ghost touches where the phone taps things by itself, or a display that goes black while the phone still rings. Some of these are the screen itself; some are connectors or deeper board issues pretending to be screen problems.

The battery and the charge

Batteries are wear parts. Expect faster drain, shutdowns at odd percentages, slow charging — or a swollen battery quietly pushing the screen up from inside, which is a "bring it in now" sign. Charging ports collect pocket lint until cables stop seating, and cables and chargers fail too, which is why the diagnosis checks the whole chain.

Water, heat and the environment

Liquid gets in through ports, speakers and tired seals, then corrodes from the inside. Heat — hot cars, direct sun, heavy use while charging — accelerates battery aging and can warp adhesives and seals that keep the next splash out.

Cameras, buttons and software

Lenses crack, camera modules fail, power buttons wear out. Software adds its own catalog: phones slowed to a crawl, stuck updates, boot loops, mystery storage that's always full. Some "hardware" problems are software in a costume, and vice versa.

The deep end

Finally, the board itself: motherboard and IC-level faults from drops, liquid or age. These take longer and need a specialist bench — the kind of work Mr. Phone US accepts, with timing explained before service.

Whatever category yours falls into, the first step is the same and it's free: a diagnosis that tells you which problem you actually have, what fixing it takes, and what it costs. Phones rarely fail mysteriously — they fail specifically. Find out specifically.

Diagnosis is free at Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Bixby — and you're not charged until the phone is fixed.

To buy or to repair?

Your phone is broken, aging, or both, and you're standing at the fork: put money into the phone you have, or put (more) money into a different one? There's no universal answer — but there is a reliable way to decide.

Start with what a repair actually costs

Most people guess at repair prices, and guess high. Ground the decision in real numbers first: the price finder on this site publishes screen prices for iPhone and Samsung models (screens start from $39.99), and a free diagnosis will price out a battery, port or camera problem exactly — for any brand, with no obligation. A single-part repair on a phone that's otherwise healthy is almost always the cheapest route back to a phone you like.

Repair usually wins when…

  • One thing is wrong — a screen, a battery, a port — and the rest of the phone serves you well.
  • The phone still gets its updates and runs your apps comfortably.
  • Your photos, setup and habits live in it, and a migration sounds like a chore you'd rather skip.

Buying starts to win when…

  • Several systems are failing at once, and the repair list is becoming a subscription.
  • The phone no longer receives security updates, or struggles with apps you need daily.
  • The repair quote approaches the value of the phone itself.

The middle path: refurbished

If you do replace, "new" isn't the only door. Mr. Phone US sells refurbished phones — the refurbished iPhone 11 Pro listed on this site carries a 1-year warranty — so you can upgrade for less than a new flagship while still getting warranty coverage. Call or visit to see what's currently on the shelf, since availability changes.

And whichever way you land, a repaired phone isn't wasted money: it becomes the family spare, the kid's first phone, or a trade-in with actual value. Get the free diagnosis, compare the real numbers, and let arithmetic — not frustration — make the call.

Deciding between repair and replace?

Most Reliable & The Quickest Phone Repair in Tulsa

"Quick" is easy to promise and hard to define, so let's define it. At Mr. Phone US in Tulsa, many common repairs — the everyday screens, and basic screen, software, camera and water-damage jobs — are completed in about 15–30 minutes. Not "shipped back in 15–30 business days." Done, in your hand, while your coffee is still warm.

How the speed actually happens

Speed isn't rushing; it's everything around the repair being ready. Diagnosis is free and immediate, so the clock starts on the fix, not on paperwork. Technicians bring more than 15 years of experience, which means the common jobs are muscle memory and the uncommon ones get recognized fast. And you're not charged until the phone is fixed — so there's no queue of paid tickets ahead of you, just phones being worked on in order.

And when it isn't quick, you'll know

Honesty is part of reliability: major motherboard or IC-level work takes longer, and that timing is explained before service begins, not discovered after. A shop that's straight about the slow jobs is a shop you can believe about the fast ones.

Reliable also means "after you leave"

A repair that fails next week wasn't quick — it was a preview. Completed repairs here carry a 90-day warranty, which is what turns a fast fix into a dependable one. Published screen prices for iPhone and Samsung models (from $39.99) mean the quick service starts with a number you could verify from home.

The Tulsa store at 7110 S Mingo Rd, Suite 105 runs on this standard — and so do Broken Arrow and Bixby, same free diagnosis, same warranty, same pace. Whichever is closest to your day, bring the phone in and watch the clock be kind to you for once.

Back to all articles Blog cover: Should you take your phone to the sauna?

Should you take your phone to the sauna?

Short answer: your phone would prefer you didn't. Long answer: the sauna combines the two things phones handle worst — sustained heat and dense steam — in one relaxing wooden room. Let's break down why, because the same logic applies to steamy bathrooms, hot tubs and poolside lounging.

Steam goes where water can't

Many modern phones resist splashes and brief dunks, but steam is a different opponent. Water vapor is fine enough to drift past seals that stop liquid, and once warm moist air is inside a phone, it condenses on the cooler internal parts — effectively raining inside the device. That's why a phone can come out of a sauna with a fogged camera lens: the moisture is already in.

Water-resistance ratings also come with fine print: they're tested with still, clean water, not heat, steam, soap or chemicals — and resistance fades as seals age, especially after drops or repairs.

Heat is the other half of the problem

Sauna temperatures push a phone well past its comfort zone. Heat accelerates battery aging, stresses adhesives and seals (the very things keeping moisture out), and can trigger thermal shutdowns. Repeated sessions add up: the battery that "suddenly" drains fast by winter may have spent the summer getting steamed.

If your phone already took the steam

Watch for fog under the camera lens, muffled speakers, charging oddities or a screen that behaves strangely in the days after. Don't charge it while it may still be damp inside, and skip the rice bag — it can't reach internal moisture. A water-damage check at Mr. Phone US starts with a free diagnosis, and internal drying and cleanup done early can stop condensation from becoming corrosion.

Leave the phone with your towel outside the door. It will enjoy the break from notifications, and you'll enjoy not needing us quite so soon.

Where to go when your phone breaks?

Your phone just broke. You're standing there with a spiderwebbed screen or a black display, and the first question is practical: where do you take it? Here's a straightforward way to choose — the same checklist we'd want a family member to use.

Ask these five things

  • Is diagnosis free? You shouldn't have to pay to find out what's wrong.
  • Do you get the quote before the repair? And are you charged only once the phone is actually fixed?
  • Is there a warranty, and how long is it? A shop that stands behind its work puts it in writing.
  • How long will it take? "Many common repairs in 15–30 minutes" is a different life experience from "we'll mail it back next week."
  • Who's doing the work? Experience matters most when the problem isn't the obvious one.

Where Mr. Phone US fits

Those are exactly the terms here: free diagnosis, a clear quote before work, no charge until the phone is fixed, a 90-day warranty on completed repairs, many common repairs done in 15–30 minutes, and technicians with more than 15 years of experience covering phones, tablets, watches, laptops and consoles.

And "where" has three convenient answers in the Tulsa metro, all offering the same standard:

Too busy to come to us? On-demand repair brings a technician to your home or office — book it on this site and confirm your area by phone. Wherever you end up taking your phone, ask the five questions. We built Mr. Phone US to answer them well.

Cell Phone Screen Repair

Screen repair is the most common job at any phone repair counter — and the one with the most confusion around it. "The screen" is actually several parts working together, and which of them is damaged decides the repair. Here's the plain-language version.

Glass, touch layer, display

The top layer is the glass you touch. Beneath it sits the touch layer, which reads your fingers, and the display, which produces the picture. On most modern phones these come as one assembled unit, which is why "it's only the glass" still usually means replacing the screen assembly — but a proper diagnosis confirms what's damaged before you pay for anything.

  • Cracked glass, everything works — the classic screen replacement.
  • Picture problems — lines, flicker, dark patches or a black screen point at the display.
  • Touch problems — dead spots or touches that land in the wrong place point at the touch layer (more in our touch screen repair article).

What it costs and how long it takes

Mr. Phone US publishes its screen prices: the price finder lists model-by-model pricing for iPhone and Samsung, with screens starting from $39.99. For other brands, call your store for pricing — no invented numbers. Many common screen repairs are completed in 15–30 minutes, diagnosis is free, you're not charged until the phone is fixed, and the completed repair carries a 90-day warranty.

Before and after the repair

Back up your phone before any repair, just as a habit — the store's published policy is clear that customer data is your responsibility to back up, and the shop doesn't store or restore it. After the repair, protect the investment: tempered glass fitted in store while you wait, and a case from the accessory wall, are cheap insurance against an encore.

Cracked today doesn't have to mean cracked all month. Check your model's price, walk into Tulsa, Broken Arrow or Bixby, and leave with a screen that looks — and works — like nothing happened.

Phone Touch Screen Repair

The picture is perfect. The glass isn't even cracked. But the screen has stopped listening: you tap here and it registers there, a strip across the middle ignores you completely, or — most unsettling — the phone taps things by itself. Welcome to touch screen problems, the fault that makes a phone feel haunted.

Meet the digitizer

Between the glass and the display sits a transparent layer called the digitizer, a fine grid that maps where your finger lands. When it fails, the display below it can look flawless while touch goes wrong in specific, telltale ways:

  • Dead zones — a band or corner that never responds.
  • Ghost touches — apps opening, messages typing themselves.
  • Offset touches — the phone responds next to your finger, not under it.
  • Intermittent response — works after a restart, fades during the day (often a drop's delayed souvenir; see our article on screens that work "sometimes").

First, rule out the impostors

Not every touch problem is hardware. A misbehaving app, a software glitch, a poorly fitting screen protector or a charger feeding noisy power can all imitate digitizer failure. A restart and removing the protector are worth two minutes at home. If the dead zone stays in exactly the same place through all of it, the digitizer is the likely story — and that's a diagnosis a technician can confirm for free, including checking the screen's connector before recommending any part.

The repair

On most modern phones the digitizer is part of the screen assembly, so touch repair and screen replacement are the same job: published prices for iPhone and Samsung models are in the price finder, other brands are quoted by phone, many common repairs take 15–30 minutes, and the work is backed by a 90-day warranty.

A phone that won't listen isn't a phone for long. Bring it in, let a free diagnosis separate software ghosts from digitizer damage, and get your taps back where they belong — under your fingers.

Screen not listening?

A free diagnosis will tell you if it's the digitizer, a connector or just software — before you spend anything.

Phone Water Damage Repair

A phone can survive the splash and still lose the war. Water damage is rarely about the moment of the dunk — it's about the hours afterward, while moisture sits on the board and corrosion quietly gets to work. That's why water-damage repair is a race, and why what you do before you reach the counter matters as much as what happens at it.

Your first hour checklist

  • Power it off and keep it off. Electricity plus water is what destroys boards.
  • Do not charge it — not even "to see if it works." This is the single most damaging move people make.
  • Remove the case, dry the outside with a soft cloth, and leave ports facing downward.
  • Skip the rice, the hair dryer and the oven. Rice can't reach internal water, and heat drives moisture deeper and cooks adhesives. (We make the full case in our rice article.)
  • Bring it in as soon as you can — hours matter more than home remedies.

What professional water-damage repair involves

At Mr. Phone US, water-damage service means opening the phone, thoroughly drying and cleaning the internal components, and inspecting for corrosion on the board and connectors. The goal is twofold: revive the phone, and attempt to save your data. Diagnosis is free, and you'll hear honestly what's recoverable before you pay — because not every drowned phone comes back, and anyone who guarantees otherwise is guessing with your money.

Where a repair is completed, it carries a 90-day warranty. And because corrosion can declare itself late, a phone that's been wet deserves a watchful week or two even after it revives — odd charging or touch behavior afterward is worth a return visit.

A word on "water-resistant"

Resistance ratings cover fresh water, gentle conditions and brand-new seals. They don't cover steam, salt water, soap, drops that compromise seals, or age. Treat resistance as a safety net, not a swimming license — and if the net ever gets used, get the phone checked while the story is still simple.

Wet phone? Clock's ticking

Power it off, don't charge it, and bring it to Tulsa, Broken Arrow or Bixby for internal drying and cleanup.

Battery Replacement

Every phone battery is slowly wearing out from the day it's made. Each charge cycle takes a tiny toll, and after a couple of years the toll becomes the story: shorter days, stranger behavior, a phone that feels older than it is. Battery replacement is the repair that gives that phone its life back — but first, let's make sure the battery is really the problem.

Signs your battery is asking to retire

  • Fast drain — percentages that fall during light use, or a phone that can't reach evening.
  • Shutdowns with charge left — dying at 15% or 20% is a classic worn-battery signature.
  • Strange percentages — jumping from 40% to 12%, or "charging" from 90 to 100 in minutes.
  • Heat while doing little — an aging battery works harder and wastes energy as warmth.
  • Swelling — a back panel lifting or a screen being pushed up from inside. This one means stop using the phone and bring it in promptly; a swollen battery shouldn't be charged or pressed on.

Before you blame the battery

Software can imitate battery failure: a runaway app, weak signal forcing the radio to work overtime, or heavy background activity. (And no, force-closing all your apps isn't the fix — we explain why in our battery myths article.) That's why replacement at Mr. Phone US starts with a free diagnosis: battery health is checked, charging behavior is looked at, and you'll know whether the battery, the port, the cable or an app is the real culprit before you pay for a part.

The replacement itself

If the battery is the answer, it's swapped for a fresh one, the phone is tested through its charging paces, and the completed repair is backed by a 90-day warranty. The change is usually dramatic — a phone that felt finished starts making it to bedtime again — and it costs a fraction of replacing the phone, which is why battery replacement is often the smartest money in the whole repair-versus-replace debate.

Bring your charger with you when you visit; it's part of the story. Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Bixby all start with the same free diagnosis.

Yes. Published services include smartwatch screens, laptop repair, game-console HDMI ports and motherboard or IC-level work.
